About Me

I'm confused. One day I feel as though I want to be 1950s housewife; cooking, baking, tending to household duties, and ensuring that the children are well mannered. The next day I'm accused of being a feminist and I find myself throwing around words like 'chauvinist' and 'sexist'. I'm at my happiest dressed up, in high heels, cooking, baking, creating, entertaining, and then wrapped in pyjamas and a blanket writing about the day's events. I'm torn between wanting to be a journalist, a chef, an author, a teacher, a linguistic, and an entrepreneur. I'm attempting to do all of it. Multi-tasking and running around like a headless chicken is probably my greatest skill. I'm a perfectionist; arguably this trait runs parallel to, in opposition to, or is exactly the same as my tendency to be extremely stubborn- I want to do everything myself, I want to get it right the first time, and have it perfect and better than anyone else by the third attempt. It runs in the family, along with mild insanity.

This food blog is my first venture into food journalism; I'm hoping it will help me with my career goals of working as a food writer and photographer, and opening up the catering business I'm dreaming about day in and day out. Suit stuff aside, it’s also a way for me to connect with the ones I love in the best way I know how: writing and cooking. Please feel free to leave comments, request recipes, and share this blog with other foodies you know and love!
